Looking after my vulnerable parents so Zed detailed using a DAS6 PRO.

Wash, decontaminated, clayed, Meg's ultimate polished and topped off with FK1000p sealant.

Alloys also sealed with FK1000p and Meg's tyre dressing.

That looks very clean and shiny. Ruby black looks like it has a tinge of aubergine colour in it, reminds me of a Honda Civic I sold many many years ago, a very similar colour.

Nice! I'm doing my Ruby Black MC right now, what % of paint correction do you have on the car?

I'm doing a panel a day, Meguiars microfibre pads and Menzerna 400 then refining with the Menzerna 3500. I've done the boot, both rear wings and the top half of the rear bumper. Passenger door tomorrow!

Thanks Guys.

Angelus666, I tried paint correction last year with my DAS 6 Pro, Meguiars microfibre pads and Meguiars cutting compound. Spent 4 hours on the bonnet.

Didn't touch it!

I'm an amateur detailer and got frustrated. The paint is hard and the clearcoat laquer difficult.

I managed to paint correct my E39 5 series:

with the same system. My Z4 has a lot RDS marks. The only way will be with Menzerna products that your going to use.

For now, the Megs polish is a glaze, so full of fillers. They simply mask the issue, NOT correct them. The glaze won't last so a top coat of sealent helps.

You are going with the correct combo, and it'll be interesting to see how you get on. I have the same menzerna compounds and I will try them next.

So, I think the trick is with this paint is to keep a really slow pass and really work the compound in. There's no benefit in rushing it, I reckon a 1ft pass is taking 5 minutes of compounding. The panel a day method for me means 2 hours solid for one panel, ridiculous but I've got nothing better to do right now! The quality of the paint and glass-like gloss level is excellent, really pleased with how it's coming along. I've got the Das Pro 6 as well, decent machine, a bit noisy but does the job ok.

Your Coupe looks great from the pics, very similar to mine before this detailing session. Everyone may say the car looks great, but you know that there are loads of RDS being masked and no doubt it'll bug you to get that machine back out during this stay at home period.

I'll upload a progress photo tomorrow to show you the progress on mine.

Brilliant.

With menzerna polishes you have to work slow and build speed because you need the heat to breakdown the compound crystal structure.

You probably know about detailing world which is where I got a load of pointers.

Look forward to it.

Lockdown detail at my house (pics above were year ant my Dad's)

Excuse the rear rusty rub. They are painted but little driving (50 yards) means the rusty surface debris fell off :D

My Arteon is done but Sahara rain has visited! So here is my Z4 before that same rain hit.

Clean/Clay mitt/Clean/Decontaminated/DAS6 pro Polished/FK1000p sealant applied/Final Megs Carnuba wax to finish. Tyres dressed in Megs tyre spray (applied with a foam pad).
