Thanks! For a 17 year old car it’s really good imo. There is a patch of lacquer peel on the front bumper which needs sorting, about the size of a 50p.

Ive been changing/upgrading bits for a few years and short of a full respray It’s pretty much as I want it

I've spent the last 3 days machine polishing our 12 yr old mk6 Fiesta ST. Its got the lovely performance metallic blue paint. I gave it a major decontamination (wash, tardis, clay etc) first of all and then set about with my new toy...

Granted it's not a zed, however it has been used to experiment and refine my technique.

Hope to work on the Zed from this weekend, time to get rid of the swirls...

Lovely stuff....such a beautiful colour. I really wanted to buy one of these but the insurance premium was bonkers, as they all keep getting stolen. :headbang:

Keep in mind the paint on the fords is very soft compared to the BMW, so you'll need extra time to get similar results.

Also, you'll need a 3in plate and pad for the Z, the 5in won't allow you to do the contours very well.

How long ago was that? Was it when they were new?

We pay £139 fully comp, its dirt cheap to insure now.

I live in Essex, and they were the most stolen car over the past 7 years. The keyless start made them an easy target for thieves...you can buy a coder from amazon and be away with one within 30 seconds. Hence every single one I see in my area has a steering wheel lock on them.

Mine doesn't have keyless start. It is the mk6, so too old for that. You must be refering to the mk7 onwards

Hello LordOxygen,

fair play for the great result on your Fiesta!

I am willing to start using the DA and would greatly appreciate some advice. Maybe I can contact you via PM to ask some questions?

Thanks in advance

Thanks  To be fair I think the roofs still a touch wet in this pic, it does have the odd mark from folding. Not bad for 12 years though assuming it’s original!

I used:

An auto glym kit on the roof (I normally use ragg top but couldn’t get any this time), Chemical guys clean slate shampoo, a chemical guys clay bar, G techniq P1 polish and swissvax blau weiss wax.
