You'll not find better than Jim White at White Details. He's at Torksey Locks. Check him out on YouTube

Thanks guys. I had heard about this guy from a friend. Very good but expensive. However, you usually get what you pay for. I am trawling round for suggestions with a view to getting the car done in the Spring.

You don't fancy having a go yourself then? I am getting a polisher for Chrismas, albeit a cheap one, and will have a go at my other car. If that turns out ok then I'll have a go at the wife's car.

I have been tempted to consider having a go but I am not the world’s best at DIY. I’m a bit short on patience too so there is a good chance I could do a bit of damage. The car would benefit from some paint rectification too so I think it needs the skills of a professional. It’s finding the right person with the necessary skills at a reasonable price. There was a Forum member near Gainsborough who was detailing part time but he no longer does it. I’ll keep looking I’m sure I’ll find someone eventually..

I've been looking into detailing for my car. There are several people/companies around the Rotherham/sheffield area to choose from that generally charge from between £600-900 including ceramic coating. Problem for me is choosing the right/best one . If anyone has any personal recommendations for the South Yorkshire area please let me know.

Save your money and buy the equipment yourself. There’s so many YouTube vids on how to do it. Seriously you’ll get the same results but it may take a few hours longer. I did this a few years ago and never looked back. I even took my Z to a well respected detailer to inspect and he thought I was having a joke with him. Asked me what I expected him to do with such good paint work. So buy the right DA polisher and don’t cut corners on the material to polish.

Thanks for the information. What are you having done for £600? This guy has a tremendous reputation but his prices are a bit on the high side for me. I am looking to have the swirls removed with some paint correction and perhaps a ceramic coating. I want the car to look decent but not to a concours standard. Once Spring has arrived I think I will contact Jim W. with a view to getting a quotation.ChrisS1981 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2020 7:52 pm Jim will be doing some paint correction on my Z3.
