Quite often I will get cobwebs on my wing mirror which I assume is a spider taken refuge in the mirror housing.
When I wash the car I give the mirror a good blasting to try and flush them out, but doesn’t work and I guess I could damage the mirror wiring???
So, what to do?
Can I just spray some insect spray in it?

Hitch-hiking spiders
That's what I do on our X3 but the wing mirrors always seem to get a new resident a few days later - and this year seems to have been particularly bad as we seem to have experienced a spider population explosion around here...
Luckily, I don't get any on the Alpina as it's garaged with a cover over it so nothing for the spiders to catch

Hitch-hiking spiders
I seem to have cobwebs on my door mirrors every time I use my car - and some on the rear light/boot-lid area.
The only ones that annoy me more are the ones that spin a web at head height across the garden path that I don't see before they are on my face - I hate that!

Any sprayed foaming product aimed around the door mirror has then making a sharp exit.
I have a spray bottled filled with diluted washing up liquid for this.
A few squirts in there before I start washing the car does the trick.

Hitch-hiking spiders
I sprayed WD40 into the back of the mirror area. Spiders can't run away fast enough. It makes a mess, so best to do just before a car wash.
