Shiny happy people
I had a plan which would have encompassed my whole day today.
I had vowed to start on the two contract bids which I was supposed to have started last week.
I was going to replace the kitchen sink tap cos it works like a shower-head now instead of a tap.
I was going to tidy the back garden and maybe, if I had time left I was going to help my nephew plan the remaining time he has left before his uni finals as he is now bricking it cos he has to cram-revise.
But fk all that
The sun was out, Benny Jr was covered in a fine layer of Sahara dust and my OCD was winding me up something bad everytime I looked at it.
So out came the cleaning acutrements for a long session of handwashing, preening and waxing and I must say, I'm rather pleased with the results!
Wash. Claybar. Wash. Rinse. Harley wax. Hand polish. Vaccuum interior and boot. Install fancy new mats. Change oil. Check ABS sensors for intermittent warning light. Re-fit summer tyres. Install new amp.
7 hours of my life well-spent I think.

I’m in Nieder Saxony in Mrs K’s 335. It had a good wash and a quick polish before we came out a week ago and it’s thick of dust - embarrassingly so, but I’m not taking it into a contact brush washing place.

That sounds more like a contract extortion racket than a car wash!

Pressure washer that should have been!
We have a new one nearby at home and they seem to be ok - to the extent of using an airline to blow surplus water from the door mirrors rather than letting it dribble after driving off.

Wow, looks great. Reminds me that I've got a lot of work to do on mine. Hasn't been washed for about 4 months, lol. I've got the clay bar kit. Roll on another spate of good weather.

You dont need any fancy arse claybar liquids. Soapy water in a spray bottle does just fine.
Pics when done!

Hi Chirs. I bought the maguires clay bar set and the spray was free on offer. Usually I'm not swayed by brands. The car is in a bit of a neglected state currently covered in dust and footprints from the local cats. I've been at uni for the last year, well since October and driven it about 5 times. I'll remove the hardtop in a few weeks and give the pram cover a clean and re-dye, re-dip the wheels, clay and clean. The headlight lenses are a bit yellowed too so that may be done mid may if it fails the MOT. Mechanically it's up to scratch having had a new rad, expansion tank and coolant sensor fitted a couple of weeks back following a overheating caused by leaking rad and expansion tank. I'm looking forwared to doing the work, I guess that's half the fun of owning these cars.

It's definitely a never-ending list of things to-do innit.DMC63 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2019 9:50 amHi Chirs. I bought the maguires clay bar set and the spray was free on offer. And that reminds me, I need to replace my coolant sensor as I think it's giving a false reading. What part no. did you go for? u have same engine as mine don't u? m54 3.0?
Happy cleaning!
