Guess what......fecking bird crap on my windscreen this morning! Typical. Grey car for ages (i.e. filthy) and no bird mess, then a white car overnight and bird poo!

So I got some LCI side repeaters ready to fit at the weekend and read its a good idea to remove the sealant etc before installing so the adhesive pads stick better.
What do I use to "strip" the sealant in that area? Bearing in mind I have no rubbing alcohol etc (can I use Whisky?)
Dab a bit of fairy liquid on a cloth and rub the area?

Remember claying stage will introduce its own clear coat marring so take your time with this stage. I would always advise to do some minor correction work on darkers cars if you can spare the time!

Any advice on removing the protection in the area for the sticky pads would be appreciated.
Also, I polished it by hand and then applied the sealant pretty much straight away as the light was fading.
Should i have washed in between? Planning on adding another coat of sealant this weekend, so presumably any that didn't bond properly will be washed off and a second coat will replace those bits???
Looks like rain at the weekend

Get yourself so iso alcohol, it’s a fiver and is the right stuff you need. There’s nothing wrong with your process, but you might see some hazing if you have rushed the polish process and then not fully cleaned off the residue before applying the sealant.

Thanks, i'm trying to find it locally (lots online).
Haven't really had time to admire my hard work in detail (apart from feeling the silky smooth paint, orgasmic!). And it blimin rained today so its a bit dirty again! Hoping to have a good look at the weekend, but rain forecast!
4 new non-rft tyres on Saturday, looking forward to it....must drive it!

So it seems I can't get any isopropyl alcohol locally (tried B&Q, Halfords etc, and looking online Boots don't sell it anymore) and i'm too late for an Amazon delivery tomorrow.
Are there any stores that are likely to have it, or an equivalent? Can I use paintbrush cleaner? (will that dissolve the paint on the car?)
What about normal tar and glue remover, iron fallout remover etc? I have a clay mitt also.

Used fallout remover and tar remover in the end. Maybe not as good as isopropyl but I couldn’t find any locally and didn’t have time to wait for delivery from amazon/ebay.
Oh, and I was impatient!
Stuck the lci repeaters on and they definitely seem strong. At the end of the day the adhesive hasn’t got loads to do cos the clips hold the main unit on the car.
Re-protected area with c2v3 and beading very nice in rain overnight.
