Well I've met up with Lynchy, thanks for that mate, and his professional opinion is that my car was filthy and I'm a complete animal! Other than that his exact words were " well the amount of dirt on the paintwork is doing you a favour"! Other than that it needs respraying and cannot be fixed any other way. So all I need to decide how is what to do!
It was great to meet another member, thanks again Eddie, even if the news wasn't what I was hoping for.

Ok Jon, least you’ve had a 2nd opinion from a man who knows.
I have another m8 who owns his own body shop - known him since I was 4, so well over 50 years - this is his new race car.
Personally, I wouldn’t suggest spending £5k plus is worth it - I can ask him if u like for options on ‘mates rates’... you can have a chat & maybe he’ll suggest just refreshing certain panels... he’s good at age colour matching ... pics of my old Aero’s he sprayed... plus the gloss black of my old TT rear diffuser

They look great. If you don't mind asking for a rough cost to respray the car, that would be great. Eddie was saying that the entire nearside needed doing and at least the offside rear quarter. In reality that means that over half of the car needs doing so it's probably easier to just go over the entire car and not worry about the exact colour match.Jembo wrote: ↑Thu Dec 27, 2018 6:48 pm Ok Jon, least you’ve had a 2nd opinion from a man who knows.
