Best Vegan Mitt?

Post by Darkangelv2 » Mon Jul 23, 2018 2:17 pm

Hi All

Put simply, i won't be replacing my wool mitt with wool again (my wife is vegan and i like to do my bit if i can).

What are peoples' favourite man-made material mitts?

PS. When researching it does appear that some wool products are the result of shearing as opposed to skinning. These would be fine

I gave up on mitts after many years and now use "Microfiber Madness incredisponge". It holds water well and is gentler than even Lambswool. They also do an "incredimitt".
I used to have two boys and a girl. Now I have two Men and a Woman. :?

I can recommend the Adams Wash Pad. Huge, soft and holds lots of suds. Had mine 3 years or so now and just starting to think about getting a new one

Surely any none natural product mitt contains plastics, and we all know what that does

Ultimately it's the trade off I feel the need to make. I know how the sheep will have been treated prior to becoming a mitt and i'd rather have to put slightly more work into maintaining my paintwork than have that on my conscience.

On the flip side, if anyone knows of a woven alternative whereby the sheep are sheared and the wool woven into a material, i'd happily use this. I find the descriptions of the mitts tending to be too vague to discern whether the wool is still attached to skin or not.

PS. I recognise the irony of my interior vs this relatively small change! It's one of many small steps i'm trying to take!

Wouldn't it be easier to get a sheep, then you can get rid of your lawnmower as well :D

On a serious note, I don't think any of us think to hard where most of our products come from, I reckon, most probably wouldn't sleep at night, but then the debate rages about economy vs enviroment
