Orange Peel??
Is it possible to remove orange peel just using a DA polisher and a heavy cutting compound??. Or is wet sanding the only route?

I’d say wet sanding, the polisher takes a fair while to cut through haze so would take an eternity to flatten orange peel

No, I’ve read of other people’s attempts but never been down that road myself.
I’d correct the paint first & see if it’s enough before taking on the wet sanding option, clearcoat with reduced swirls will be a big improvement

Orange Peel??
I've wet sanded before - all came good in the end. But there is no reason not to try the most aggressive pad + compound with a DA first.

Just ordered the car pro denim pad off ebay, the write up uses a rotary polisher but only have a Rupes DA so it should be less aggressive will report back unless I burn the paint

Wow, those denim pads look incredible. Did I understand it right though that you just use them as they are with no product on??

No I think you use a cutting compound too, other wise I could just get Mike Brewer to sit on my bonnet in his size 38 levis

1500 is fine to wet flat then 2000 then 2500, Trouble is the paintwork is unwashable after as you mark it straight away. Great for show cars though................

No it doesn't breach the clear coat.
You will mark the clear coat with the wash pad as it would be perfect after polishing. You would need a no touch wash afterwards. The less you touch it once polished the less swirls you will inflict.
Denim or Velvet pads take just enough off to make a nice difference. Not as good as wet & Dry but much safer.
What protection will you be using after. Wax/Sealant?
