Leather refurb help needed

Post by metal licker » Tue May 29, 2018 7:57 pm

Just bought a Merc C180 estate as my new daily drive but the leather seats etc are in need of a good clean and refurb
So any advise to which products to use would be gratefully received

Mods - wasn't quite sure where to put this so feel free to move :)

I may get shot down for this but I've heard , use saddle soap to give the seats a good clean, an if you can take the seats out use leather food to nourish the seats but if you can bag the seats up an leave in the sun as it will open the pours of the leather,
As ever I prepared to be corrected

Gliptone liquid leather cleaner, can be used neat on the leather with a soft scrubbing brush which gets into the cracks on the leather without drying it out. Follow that up with the liquid conditioner, worked a treat on my z4 seats, they also do kits if the leather colour has faded too.

Leather seats are sealed. Just clean with a mild 70% water 30% APC and a small bristle brush.
Steam will also help you if you have a Steam cleaner. No need to feed the leather as you are just laying products over a sealant.

The Autoglym cleaner and conditioner is brilliant. For heavy cleaning i use the Furniture Clinic deep clean and a leather brush.

If you go to the Furniture Clinic website they have anything you could possibly need including the colour of your seats.
