Had the car two weeks and...

Post by ZedConvert » Mon May 21, 2018 8:06 pm

Looks like someone caught the front corner of the bumper, came back to the car park to find it; looks like it’s taken the top layer of metallic Valencia Orange off, only a couple of inches in length... but before I go and buy some touch up paint, is there a process I should follow for best results?

Looks like it knocked of the lacquer. The bit on the right would probably polish. The left needs lacquer, but not easy to do. I’d be filling and wet sanding.

I'd be calling a pro in to touch it up if your not sure. Chips away or similar should be able to sort that for a reasonable fee.

buzyg, srhutch, thanks for the advice; funny enough I also contacted Chips Away...

Hoping for £50 for such a minor issue

So Chips Away came back with a price of £204; 3-4 Hrs of work with full respray of front corner.

I was hoping for a touch up of the 2inch scratch :-(

I’ve enquired with a few other companies too.

Bloody hell that's expensive, you can get the whole front bumper done for that surely?! You certainly can up north!
