East to West Highland area, 2020. 30TH & 31ST MAY. POSTPONED,DUE TO COVID-19
Yes,you read it right, planning meets for 2020 already.....
This is just putting it out there for those who may be interested (dates depending),and to gauge interest.
Plan is to do a Route Inspired by a recent TV program I watched, and a run that myself and my Wife and son are thinking of taking an overnight trip to do this summer, possibly.
It will Start from either Stirling services or somewhere enroute to a point North of Inverness.
From here, plan is to follow some Old Military Roads/back roads, from the 30s and 50s,which are in way better condition than they were back then, lol.
Taking us from Outskirts of Inverness to Skye, but on a route we have NEVER done before on a meet, taking some enjoyable roads and seeing some sights on the way, Inc Wildlife, such as (hopefully)Sea Eagles and Dolphins, for those who want to.
This will be an Overnight, Saturday and Sunday meet, with only a short spell on Skye,as that's not the main focus of the drives, just a part of it.
So, please put your name down if you fancy it
Cheers

Hi Craig. This sounds great and dependent upon the dates Alison and I would be very interested in coming along on this. It is fairly likely our son Tyler will be starting at Stirling University later this year so we could tie in a visit with him also before the run

Some great looking roads Alan, although that corkscrew road looked fun, probably leave that bit out on a forum meet, with more than just myself to worry about, lol.metal licker wrote: ↑Sat Feb 09, 2019 8:31 pmCaught that myself, very enjoyablemr wilks wrote: ↑Sat Feb 09, 2019 7:42 pmThink i watched the same show Craig , inspired me also ( chl4 8pm Great British car journey.s) planning on following similar route sometime this year isn't part 2 on tonight with a different part of the uk ?craig3.2 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 09, 2019 12:29 am

The states of those roads back in the 30s and 50s was unbelievable.

Yeah,The NC500 is a very good road trip.....done it in parts over the years, most areas round Inverness,Applecross(several times),etc etc,but only doing it as a whole this year,on a Forum run,and looking forward to it alot
This one is something a bit different,it takes in different roads, and heads in a different direction to the nc500,going East to West and takes in places the nc500 doesn't,with the exception of Inverness itself.
All great roads all the same
