First ever Christchurch NZ Z4 Meet?
Okay, so there were only two of us, and the reason was to get some coding done, but I think it counts. This could be the first ever Christchurch NZ Z4 Forum organised meet so I'll take that for the win
enzed4 and scarlet-jester were blessed with a beautiful warm day (after nearly 3 weeks of constant drizzle or rain) when we met up to do some Carly coding on scarlet-jester's lovely 3.0Si. I'm not sure all of the coding worked but I was a bit reluctant to push our luck with his battery not being on charge while coding.
Great to meet another forum member, Numbers exchanged so hoping for a few road trips in the coming summer

Cheers. I'm loving the 35i - so much more power than the 2.5si, but I'm not happy with the front suspension. I need to get it into a shock shop to see what they can do to smooth out the handling. It has Bilstein adjustables (don't know what model) so surely they can do something with it. It also needs a professional paint correction done, probably wet sand? I don't know, I just cant remove some marks with my D/A. I've used Megs UC, Poorboys Black Hole and some Megs UF - it looks quite good until close inspection so I'm not losing sleep over it.
Overall I think it's quite well sorted (early days yet) and has the features I wanted like iDrive, a really good sound system compared to my old E85, folding mirrors (it's the little things...) and cruise control, which I sorely missed on trips away in the E85.
I think the 224's look good, (especially compared to the factory 17"s it came with), haven't seen them on an E89 before but Mr. Wilkes reckoned they'd look the business so I trusted his judgement and kept them when I traded the E85 and I have to say I agree with his opinion. Even the blue calipers are growing on me - I'm not sure I can be bothered changing them, at least not in the short term.
Hoping for a few trips away over summer, once I get the ride sorted.
Oh, and one bad thing - it only came with one key/remote, so I've been quoted about $476 NZ (£257) by BMW to get a new one cut and coded. Ouch Apparently they can't be had any other way, so BMW can charge what they like.

Cheers enzed4, good to have a get together. Carly was hit and miss - some stuck, others didn't but great to meet up with another Z4 owner and looking forward to some road trips in the new year!

Every ones a winner. Looking very smart in the sun there.
My son is heading out to NZ, in a couple of weeks. Hope it's not to good out there.

Hope the weather improves - it's been really patchy the last few weeks. . Still, he'll be leaving the UK Winter, so at least it'll be alot warmer.

Your right there. I'm just in from walking on Dartmoor. Call me a wimp, but hail stones hurt when accompanied by a 40 mph wind.

I have to agree with Mr Wilks - the 224s look fab on an E89...I certainly wouldn't have expected them to look so good.
Great pics, thanks for sharing.

You are blessed with some truly stunning roads over there, so a Z4 meet/run should be happening way more often!
It’s a shame police have no sense of humour when it comes to speeding there... at least not in my experience...

Zeds looking good there, 224s are my favourite wheel - I was lucky enough to buy a set off a forum member. They certainly suit the E89 thats for sure

Another one for 224’s on an E89, could become as desirable as CSL’s on the Z4M

Virtual attendance from Christchurch UK here... Maybe a blast down Stoney Cross runway in the Forest...
