Pyrenean passes

Post by Beemingallover » Thu Nov 01, 2018 6:03 pm

Can anybody make recommendations, driving enjoyment, for Pyrenean road passes North-South, that is France to Spain, or vice versa?

Pyrenean passes

This one is good:

Unfortunately it was raining heavily when we were there on a roadie earlier this year. :(

The best road we came across was this, the BV-4031:

Long, well-sighted sweepers, switchbacks, views of mountains, challenging camber and zero traffic. Awesome. :driving:

Avoid Andorra unless you really want some cheap fuel... just one big traffic jam with a roundabout every 20 metres.

Thanks MrPT, I'll check out the maps, a planned trip next June. Anybody done a thread on here on great driving roads?

Pyrenean passes

Try and link up with the N260 near Jaca and follow to Le Seu D'Urgell, really is one of the greats! There's a Parador in Le Seu D'Urgell for a stopover, secure parking and lots of bars/restaurants nearby.

Agree the Andorra comment!

TBH you'd struggle not to find good driving (riding for me) roads in that region.

I've got the N260 on my routing so far, from Jaca. Thanks.
