I was thinking it may be a good idea to create a WhatsApp group for this North Wales run to exchange information and updates efficiently, keep in touch before and during the spin etc - not while driving

This is bots scanning the forum and using the link. An unexpected consequence rather than anyone on the forum pushing their services....

Attilio is on top of it and creating a new more private group so it doesn't happen again and will update here in due course.

Anyone with the link could join the group, in the exact way you joined the group also. A compurer programme simply picks up the link online and then sends a link when in the group.

The new group is essentially by invite only so is more secure and the issue shouldnt happen again.
