That's a fair point - from our Southern point of view Collin is half way there too!

The midges eat less flesh in the lakes mind you.

You're lucky to have them on your doorstep - is that why you seem to head to Scotland every year?

Yes - Scotland is like the Lakes on steroids but without the traffic

I will be posting up some vids of some of the amazing driving roads when I get home and have decent broadband

Lake district is superb as long as you avoid the Windermere area. It's pretty much my second home only being an hours drive away, esp the Buttermere, Ennerdale area (western lakes). Roads very quiet and scenery to die for.

If only people would stop publicising how great the Lakes and the North are.
That way we can keep the roads quiet and too ourselves

Well my lad certainly enjoyed the Wasdale Inn .
