Update - If enough people are interested in this (6 cars max due to limited hotel availability), then please let me know by 11 am for Saturday 13th October. I will be getting final costs etc for Sunday, 14th October, for whoever is interested. Propose to book hotels by Monday evening for all interested people. Will only go ahead with this if I have a minimum of 4 cars including my own

Hey all

Some of you guys may have come across my European Driving Tour survey a few months ago - basically I've been wanting to set up a driving tour/rally that doesn't cost the earth in Europe. Anyway those you haven't come across it, I thought best to try out something smaller and much closer to home, that being Wales.

Anyway if there is enough interest, 6 cars max (due to hotel availability), I'll be holding a 3 day tour of Wales (starting 26th Friday, ending 28th Sunday) (2 nights stay at two locations).

I'll be taking care of the routes, which I'll print out and provide a digital route with GPS co-ord to hit, and also taking care of booking the hotels. If anyone is interested, then take a look at the website I've just set up - there's more details on exactly what the tour entails.

I've also ensured the routes hit upon interesting destinations that can be visited (Castles etc, and one or two activities). Obviously it would be upto each person whether they want to spend any time at those destinations.

I won't be making any money on this, - just doing this for my own fun and primarily to see how I can make the European tour for next year into something epic.

I am tempted, but I’ve not signed up as I don’t know if my car will be ready.

I know it’s a month away, but I can’t even get it looked at until the first week of September, due to mechanic holidays & sickness, so don’t want to have to bale out if the car isn’t ready in tim.

I would be very interested,...……. if I have a car!!!!, looking at two this week so if I buy one I cant think of a better way to bond with it, pencilled in the diary if there are any spaces left when I actually buy one, WTB posted and money waiting so lets see what this week brings.

If I don't get enough numbers, then I'll prob just wait til next year for a big Europe trip. I've potentially got two Porsches from the Cayman forums that may be up for Wales - so early days yet.

There's also potential for me to delay til October - but I think most people would prefer a drive the weather turns. Anyway just shout if anything changes

Hey Frankie, So I've decided to postpone til October - if I get enough cars together. I think the only issue now is weather... as October in Wales isn't the best for great driving weather.

Hunt is over, collected my silver 2.5si this morning and totally loving it, came fully loaded with all the goodies and a dream to drive so totally happy, ready for a meet up and mini trip now so count me in

Sounds great, and congrats on the Z4! I'm aiming for mid-late October now, but a little unpredictable weather wise, but lets see how I get on with numbers of people interested. I'll keep you updated Hopefully within the next 2-3 weeks I'll have firm numbers, and then we can take it from there

At the moment I’m still a bit low in numbers, if I can get 4 or 5 cars together then i’d go ahead with it (and seven cars max due to accommodation limitations), otherwise it may be I just do a solo trip and treat it more as a research trip for next year.

However it may change towards the end of this month as I’ll be on another rally which might spruce up some interest.

I’ll keep you in the loop and update you soon.
