Ram Air Scoops -E85/86 all variants - Oct 2018

I can’t be certain from your photos but looking at the Rpi installation photos, now you’ve taken the old part out, the scoop screws in to the area where you have the two holes from the part removed.

Below link to instructions will hopefully help

Hey Dan!
Thanks for the post.
The holes are way bigger than than the screws, and they don’t line up. I can only assume the coupe scoop is different, unless I’m being really thick, which is more than possible!

Hmm, the RPI site says its fits all the regular Z4 06-08 too; maybe someone will come along and give me steer!

You definitely don’t use the original holes, but afaik the scoop is screwed in to that area, just not into those holes

I fixed mine in place with extra thick number plate sticky pads first then put screws in. 👍

No just the near side kidney grill gives you all the room you need. You do need an long screw driver though.

Hi,
Been abroad a while so thought I'd attempt to pop this in. TBH I'm really struggling with getting this in! To get the holes against a flat surface seems be an issue for me, as it then seems to interfere with getting the kidney grill back in. Would anyone be able to take a quick pic of it installed, so I can see how's it's angled??

many thanks!!

So I’ve screwed it in, but the metal is not really flush with tube walls. Indeed the top screw could only be screwed in st an angle, and not even all the way in (see pic )
The final result is way different to how it looks in the web site pic.
If someone could please give me a steer, it wud be appreciated. Or I’ll give up!

Hi,

I think the left top corner should be a lot higher.
I drilled out the holes in the metal quite a bit, to make it easier to put the screws in at an angle.

Didn't see your post whilst I was doing it, so this is the best photo I have to offer. I'm not saying I did a perfect job, placement wise. But altogether fairly happy.

any more of these still for sale?

what was the consensus on what they do for the car? a worthwhile performance / cooling mod?
