For someone who was extremely active on the forum he seems to have dropped it like a hot tattie now that he doesnt need it.
If he has left the forum and no longer visits, could someone who knows him not give him a nudge.
Did he not have a good friend on here who was always round his place?

I feel sorry for rocket having just gotten into the forum and getting he’s fingers burnt like this .... as this is a forum, as a forum, we should react . If rocket doesn’t get he’s cash back , perhaps the culprit in question should be banned , seems like at least one other person has been burned by him as well . How can he still be allowed to advertise he’s services on here , potentially allowing for someone else to get stuffed as well.

its very strange, its seems he does not do conflict well, he seems to shy away (run even) from situations and problems. When i go to see him for work he is always right as rain, but present him with a problem and he goes silent. I have been there and seen him close an incoming call presumably because he didnt feel upto the conversation. In a perfect world he needs a secretary to sort problems. There is no issue with the quality of his work im sure we agree, but his customer facing needs work :) I also ( because he doesntr come here so often) took it upon myself to mention rockets problem in a text i sent him - i know he read it. but did not reply, conflict avoidance is the key here. :|

. I have absolutely no doubt he’s skills are top drawer
, no one has said otherwise I don’t think, so , that speaks for itself. I just can’t help but feel for rocket and beedub . Both out of pocket by a considerable amount... he doesn’t HAVE to even confront the situation. Just send them back their money. Surly it would be so much better for him in the long run .

I'm no friend of Mikes, that's been well documented on here in the past. What Ive never said in public before is I wasn't impressed with the roof motor job he did for me at his house. Nothing major, I had a couple of minor issues (loose roof motor banging on the suspension strut, the shelve was not clipped back onto the roof and a load of plastic debris left in the boot. Mine was a rushed job taking about half an hour when "he just about fitted me in" between two backbox jobs. But when your paying someone £80 for half an hours work (without them even leaving home) with no more than a couple of quid in materials you do expect better.

That wasn't even what we ended up falling out over!

What I find particularly disgusting about the situation with Beedub and Rocket is the completely hypocritical nature of it. A year or so back Mike bought something secondhand on here to give as a gift (IIRC it was a phone or tablet) and then went on a right rant slating the guy who sold it to him as it had a few marks on and Mike felt he been mis-sold based on the description.

Well at least he actually got what he paid for, unlike his customers!

I appreciate he may be having personal issues at the moment but if you take someones money you need to deliver or just give a refund if you cant! :thumbsdown:

As much as he pissed me off.... i'm over it now, just had to move on.... what else could i do?
Im just glad i evidenced what went down. I wont lie i felt disappointed that the community didn't help me when i was clearly being "abused". I see that same trend happen recently with rocket people almost making excuses for our treatment and in my case his friend had to come on here to speak for him!! . We both clearly evidenced what went down and their is ZERO excuses. ALL I wanted was the missing pieces to the very expensive purchase id made & it seemed like the forum turned a blind eye when i called him out after months of ignoring me... In the end... I had to go and purchase them separately making the ramp purchase in all honesty not worth my while.

If this would have been a reverse situation, honestly??? i feel i would have gotten a very different response from quite a few members. What REALLY insulted me was the complete lies about my conduct in a bitter attempt to save face.... When that came into it, i knew that i was dealing with someone i need to distance myself from a very quickly. I knew it would be a matter of time before further issues would arise. I was ignored for months before i even muttered a word, same with rocket. Mack another important customer who kept his mouth zipped about his experience until now. We all cant be making it up. Patterns ARE unfolding.

Somehow i feel vindicated by watching this thread and someone else experience the same. Im just sad its a (new) member thats had to experience it. The treatment is just unacceptable and i'm really dissappointed to see this. Moving forward i wish mike all health and happiness in the new year and can only suggest a rethink on how he is handling things before serious damage is done to his reputation. For me at least... a simple sorry would be enough. For this customer which is nothing short of abuse of the worst kind from a business, i suggest some very decent compensation and move ON.

To be fair I think most folks are probably keeping their heads down after seeing the vicious tirades I experienced from Mike and his cronies when I challenged him over his comments on my post re the cost of vanos repairs and his rule breaking in general. Once he had a pop over that, no doubt annoyed that it could effect his bottomline. I didnt hold back and said what loads of people were thinking. That he was taking the proverbial with his massive and aggressive commercial advertising on here. Privately I received a lot of support for the stand I took which was appreciated and encouraging. I was also made aware that I wasn't the only one who was less than impressed with Mike, his work and certainly his prices. To be honest some of his cronies are lucky to still be allowed on here really, when you consider the abuse they dished out, especially when you consider other members have been banned for far less.
I did pmsl laughing when Jamiez4 did his usual trick of rushing to Mike's defence with you. But how foolish and ridiculous was his statement of Mike being very busy with no time to go in his garage to look for your missing pieces (so too busy with other customers not one he had already had his money off then) and then at the same time telling us he was out with Mike last night. So he got time for a night out with his croney!
In hindsight I wish I'd publically spoke up condemning Mike's antics and supported you earlier but I guess I just didn't want to be on the end of a load of abuse again

It's obviously not good to read of experiences like this, however the thing that really stood out to me about him was his willingness to share his technical knowledge on the forum, and in that respect I think he was / is a real asset to this site. I think we should at least separate that out from the issues faced by members using his physical services.

That was probably true early on. But in recent times his posts were more along the lines of "where are you, I can fix that for X! " or "I can supply this for X"
Not helpful to someone wishing to tackle it themselves and just after a bit of technical advice.

Please don't bring me into this. I've been very quiet on the subject because I messaged Mike a month ago saying I think you need to reply to this guy, to which he ignored me. So we haven't spoke since and I don't appreciate you bringing me into your personal vendetta against him.

Nothing against you mate! Mack bringing me into things again unnesecarily imo. I finally see things from both sides of the coin and I'm quite impartial to the situation now. Constant posts on Facebook from him yet ignoring me led to my decision not to bother anymore.

Please don't bring me into this. I've been very quiet on the subject because I messaged Mike a month ago saying I think you need to reply to this guy, to which he ignored me. So we haven't spoke since and I don't appreciate you bringing me into your personal vendetta against him.
The only ones with a vendetta were you and Mike. You were the ones that started the insults/abuse. Simply because you both didn't like the fact I was the one that finally spoke up about his taking the absolute piss with his commercial postings, in breach of the rules and treating the place like his own private market place free of any competition. Remember this all only started in the first place when I mentioned that a work colleague had had a job done at a proper BMW Specialist cheaper than Mike was charging, he didn't like that and it highlighted something I and lots of others were thinking. The fact his prices were in most cases on a par if not more expensive that a lot of specialists, never mind a local garage. That was back when he worked from home,so god knows what he charges now he's actually got premises.

My post that references your post earlier in this thread only served to be another slap in the face to Beedub, I know that wasn't your intention but that was the net result. All it served to do was to prove Mike wasn't interested in a previous customer with a issue, he already had his money. Despite everything Jamie I've got no vendetta/axe to grind so lets just let bygones be bygones. I do realize everything that went on you were just trying to defend/be loyal to a mate. Im pretty sure if it had been Marius not Mike you'd of actually been backing me up!

Anyway lets leave that there as this is about Beedub and particularly Rocket who is massively out of pocket. As you've pointed out Jamie, Mikes gone radio silent on him despite the fact he was still posting of his commercial facebook page long after taking his money. Bearing that in mind and his previous treatment of Beebub they're really is no excuses.

Rocket have you had any joy getting your money back? Or any communication from Mike? It must be three months or so now since this started for you.

You were dragged into a lot of things that you shouldn't have been thinking you were helping a friend who seems not to be a good friend.

All it served to do was to prove Mike wasn't interested in a previous customer with a issue, he already had his money. Despite everything Jamie I've got no vendetta/axe to grind so lets just let bygones be bygones. I do realize everything that went on you were just trying to defend/be loyal to a mate. Im pretty sure if it had been Marius not Mike you'd of actually been backing me up!

Anyway lets leave that there as this is about Beedub and particularly Rocket who is massively out of pocket. As you've pointed out Jamie, Mikes gone radio silent on him despite the fact he was still posting of his commercial facebook page long after taking his money. Bearing that in mind and his previous treatment of Beebub they're really is no excuses.

Rocket have you had any joy getting your money back? Or any communication from Mike? It must be three months or so now since this started for you.
Not received anything, not heard anything. Last thing I did was send a second letter which I also sent as an email. I will wait until the new year and then continue with the advice I am receiving. This is a step by step procedure which can end up in court and maybe the court collecting the money. Not sure about recovering costs or compensation as I have not got that far yet.
