E89 Cruise Control Fitting

Post by AnubisZed » Mon Aug 19, 2019 8:00 am

Morning all,

Just wanted to let you all know that I offer this service for your non-cruise E89 :driving:

I've always got some sets in stock so give me a shout and we can arrange an appropriate date for fitting.
I work from home and have a day job so most fittings are done on a Saturday (other days could be arranged  )
I (currently) charge £110 for the full job ("currently" because if the price of parts goes up so will this price!).
I source the best parts for the best price (to keep it low), all parts are used and in good condition, they are fully cleaned (no matter what) once I receive them and put into safe storage.

To undertake this retrofit I will disconnect your battery, remove your old lower cowl and stalks, replace with the Cruise Control stalks and associated cowl (I will not cut the old version to fit and save money, so please don't ask!) and then I'll code to your car. Once this is checked as working I will then run my code reader and remove any fault codes arisen due to the retrofit and then show you any that are not associated with it (I can email you a pdf of the actual report for further investigation) all of which I will clear ("Try" to clear in the case of existing ones). Once this is all complete I'll code a couple of extras for you (if possible).
I'll also show you how the Cruise Control works.

Please NOTE*** I DO NOT recommend undertaking the physical fitting and then driving to me, this can be dangerous! I will still charge the same anyway, so drive safely and just let me do it  This way I know that it is fully fitted correctly. I also do not offer this via Teamviewer (or anything similar), I fit and code here so I can be sure of everything is correct as this is a hands-on retrofit.

If you currently have a heated steering wheel I can undertake Cruise retrofit on this as well. It is a standard set of stalks but a different lower cowl (with the steering wheel heater button in it), these are fairly rare here in the UK so I'd have to give you a quote at the time (they aren't cheap!!)

If there is anything you want to know then give me a shout.
I've posted a How-To in the E89 How-To section and there is also a link to my How-To video on my YouTube channel... viewtopic.php?f=46&t=107989 if you feel like trying it yourself (a laptop and software is required for coding as it will not work without this).

Morning bokus,
Sorry but I don't know any other members that do this.
I appreciate the distance but I have had people come to me from South Wales, Scotland etc....... it's a nice drive here and a nicer one back

Hi Dave,
I have done the Hardware-Job (part 1), following your description.
Can you do the coding (part 29) via internet by e.g. TeamViewer or alike?

How can we get in contact as I cannot PM you.

Cheers
Thorsten
