Ipod Input

Post by m4rtyboy » Sun Aug 17, 2008 8:32 pm

Ok, well I am probably going to ask something that has been asked, but in my defense I have searched the forum and cant find a thread.

I have a 2008 Z4 which I know already had a 3.5mm jack input. However my other half has a 3 year old X3 which has a CD changer that has been disabled and an ipod cable put in its place. This means that she can charge the ipod too. I have an iphone and want to be able to do the same.

Does anyone know if there will be an input on the back of the radio for me to do the same and how easy this is? I dont have a cd changer in my Z4 and its a 2.0 sport.

Thanks fellow Z4ers!!

Can't imagine it is that hard to fit yourself... They quote 1.5 hours to fit the Aux input (£50 part) which I and several others here have fitted themselves. It no way took me 1.5 hours to fit it. They should print you off some fitting instructions if you ask nicely :)

HI

Thanks for the tips.

I just have the basic radio I think and I have read that there are some connectors in the boot.

Do I assume that the Denison 100 connects to the back of the radio into a socket where the cd changer lead would go, if there was one?

Does anyone have any picutures on how to remove the radio?

Let me know if you need a higher resolution version :)

Even is you do not have the CD changer, you will have the cables that you can use with an aftermarket adapter (like the Dice unit). See here for pics.

Think Def gonna go with the Denison 100 with the active cradle.

So what ingenious ways or parts are out there for mounting without drilling the dash of course.

Any pics would be welcome
