Change to red/white tail lights 2004 version
Dear All
I am thinking about changeing the standard yellow/red tail lights to the red/white ones. On the tail lights, there is a small mittel section which is painted in the cars colour. I noticed that some of the sets for sale on E bay are without this coloured part.
Does any one have any experience, if it is possible to switch these in colour parts, or if I need to buy a red/white set in my cars colour?
Hope to hear from you, that already have made the upgrade

I believe you are referring to the little "french fry" piece that divides the taillight between the brake and reverse sections. That piece is removable and interchangable with a red/clear set.

Use a hair dryer to get the old ones off. You need some sticky tape to glue it back to the new lights. I actually bought the tape from the dealer (in correct shape as well) for £1

Re: Change to red/white tail lights 2004 version
I have a set of European ( not UK ) red and clear tailights for sale. Failed my first MOT because the reverse and fog lights were on the wrong sides for use in the UK. They should probably be fine for the US as well as continental Europe. Comes complete with the double sided tape to fit your painted French Fry! I may also have a brand new set of clear side indicators with new badges available. I'm just waiting for some one who has first refusal on them to get back to me. PM me if your interested. I used the hairdryer to remove the tape by the way. It was simple enough.

Thanks for all the tips. Seems like an okay simple change
Curtis, sounds good. I have been looking on E Bay for this until now, but what do you have in mind about the price for the set of tail lights and I might also be interested in the clear side indicators?
Kinds regards to all

The side indicators are now sold but you can have the tailights for £65GBP plus postage. Sound fair? Where do you live by the way?

Re: Change to red/white tail lights 2004 version
I'm not understanding. There is only one reverse light and one fog light on the Z. On UK cars the fog is on the right and reverse on the left, outside the Uk it's the other way round. It looks like Holm is buying the lights by the way, sorry mister_ roger.

If anyone should need some help to change the tail lights, I found this German guy´s homepage, who have made a very nice photo step by step manual.
By the way, if you understand German there are a lot of other good descriptions of how to.....
