Do all non satnav head units have aux facility

Hopefully I can get a definitive answer to this. I want to put an after market sat nav in my Father in laws e83( it has the same head unit as the e85) the company selling it says it works through the aux port on the standard head unit, but I don't think you can check if it's there as it needs to have a cable that has a set resistance in it to allow the mode button to go to aux. So have I got aux?
