Interested to hear how you feel it rides, looks to be an SE with the softer suspension and smaller alloys

They are 17", but with RFT. It has the standard suspension. I don't really have anything else to compare it too, my previous cars have all been flabby hatchbacks with lots of roll and bounce. I know that switching the tyres would make it softer, and that lowering it/switching to Eibachs will make it firmer. I have no complaints about it so far - in fact I'm loving every minute of it!

Sorry the reason I asked about the suspension was that the SE has standard more comfortable suspension at a slightly higher ride height vs the sport. It will be interesting to hear you're feedback once you've had a chance in a sport. Nice write up on the de-badging!

I’m back! After a six year zed-less hiatus, I am finally back in a coupe - and this time it’s an M.

Without a Z4 in my life I felt lost: wandering from sensible estate to sensible estate, occasionally flirting with the odd SUV; I always felt a pang of regret whenever I would see a Z4 coupe. Hell, even seeing a roadster would have me scrolling wistfully through the classifieds.

It became an addiction, trying to find the perfect one for me, before bottling it when it came to having ‘the talk’ with my SO. I thought I could control it, but who was I kidding? Late nights scrolling through autotrader, my thumb hovering over the ‘contact seller’ button - it was bound to happen eventually.

I found the one. I thought I was being subtle, covert even, when I decided to broach the subject:
“Darling...”
I felt my knees weaken.
“I was thinking that perhaps...”
My throat dried.
“Maybe we could...”
She was becoming suspicious, I could tell. Don’t pani...
“I’dliketogoandseeacarthisweekenditsaninvestmentreallyithInkyoudreallyenjoyitandyouvealwayssaidhowgoodyoulookinredanditotallyagreewithyouimeanitsnotthatexpensiveandipromiseillletyouhaveagoinitandimonlygoingtoseeitnocommitmentsowhatstheworstthatcouldhappenimeanonlyifyouthinkitsagoodidea...”

She stared into the middle distance, eyes narrowing slowly. After what seemed like too long, unbelievably, her gaze started to soften, her brow smooth, and her face slowly lit into a smile. “It’s a Z4, isn’t it?” she asked. I was rumbled. She explained that she’d been watching my frantic searching for some time, and frankly, she wanted it to stop as much as I did.

This week, I finally took delivery of my new (to me) 2007 Z4MC, in spotless Imola red. I haven’t stopped smiling since. It’s everything I remember about my old 3.0, and so much more. The power, the looks, the steering, the sound, the ride. I could go on for days.

Let anyone else near the wheel? No chance.

That's a stunning car you have found, and great photos.

I bought my MC in December 2019 and the only Imola factor is on the seats! But I'm still loving it for all those things you highlighted (after 5+ years of 3.0Si ownership)!
