New Owner - Maldives Blue E85

Post by JMT93 » Tue Jun 11, 2024 3:18 pm

Hi All,

I have just become the new owner of a Maldives blue E85, 2.5Ltr.

I currently have no history of the vehicle, so was just wondering if anyone on this forum owned the car previously?

REG - RJ54 FKB

Photos will follow when the weather gets better :)

Thanks

The car has been around, with eight owners and is a Cat D. If you contact BMW they will have her early history and perhaps some of the later services. viewtopic.php?t=32071&hilit=Maldives+Club+1

Not time like the present, we like a before and after.

raymond.harper,

Im aware of the Cat D, and also how many owners :)

BMW only have history from 2005 - 2007, the rest must have been done independent!

I know in the case of my last Mercedes, a 2005 SLK, a suitable computer could access the ECU and recover information on how many times the car was serviced. Perhaps it may be possible to get such data from the Z4's ECU

Even if it is, surely it would have had to have been serviced by garages with BMW software, who have 'plugged in' the car?
Seems a very long shot.

The only history BMW have is from 2005 - 2007, anything after that is not documented with them.

The car does look to have had a recent service, and a few new parts which is good.

Looking to tackle the Oil pan leak next anyway, one job at a time :)
