Get a good code reader plugged in and check for any set codes and any shadow codes that come up, the shadow codes will let you see what has gone on in the past.
Give the car a good service, engine oil and filter, gearbox fluid change and Diff fluid change, having done all that you know whats in it.
Take the spark plugs out and inspect clean and gap them if they look ok otherwise put a set of new ones in, keep old ones as spares.
Prior to servicing it is a good idea to visually check over the entire engine for any signs of oil leaks, usual places are Cam Cover gasket and the oil filter housing to engine block joint. Both will eventually fail through age and repeated heat cycles hardening the gaskets.
Check all rubber vaccum hoses and inlet boots for cracks and holes, replace any that are found, air leaks are the common cause for bad running and messing up the fuel trims. Once you sorted all that out turn attention to checking out condition of the brake lines and hoses, any suspect ones should be replaced. Pull the brake pads and check them out, clean and replace if the pads have life left in them. Change of brake fluid might be worth doing if you have no recent history of it being done in the last 2 years.
Update your user details or add a Signature with your location, it helps if someone is near to you who may be able to give you a hand with jobs on the car when needed.
