All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Very tame compared to the Boxa forum mate, I'm restraining myself.Argyll Andy wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 9:43 pmYou should know better than making comments like that with the Carry On sense of humour on here
Anyway, is 3 inches not the English average?

That's correct.
You need an aftermarket 'smart-top' device wired in to get full control of it.

Thanks, in the handbook it says the roof can be operated to open or close from the remote, and as it does open from the remote I assumed it would close it or am I missing something

If you have the CA option you should be able to close the roof with the key, I believe. HOWEVER, owners have commented that they need to stand very close (closer than 3mtrs) for it to work. Also make sure the car battery is in top condition, it may not allow some features to work if the battery is undercharged. If your car has the original battery it may be about time to replace it, these BMW's are very sensitive to low voltages and can throw all sorts of codes and issues. If you don't have CA, you cannot close the roof remotely without a 3rd party module (Smarttop) - very good but very expensive for what it does.

Well I’m afraid after 3 weeks we decided the Z4 was not the right car for my wife so sold it with a £3k loss and moved on, we are now out of bmw as the i3 is gone and back to good reliable internal combustion on both our cars.

Welcome to the zed family. I can understand why your wife may not feel comfortable in the new car. I am 5'4 and it does take time to get used to the long bonnet and the lower ride height. But then again I have had two previous cars that may have helped 74 corvette (long hood) and 79 MGB both had lower ride height. But even with this past car history it did take me awhile to find a comfortable seat adjustment in my 05 Zed. Good luck with the new purchase and hope your wife will eventually come to love it.MaisieMay wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 9:37 pm Thanks for the comments guys, unfortunately my wife chooses a car from a picture I show her but doesn’t like dealerships anymore than I do, so I collect and deliver and my wife either likes or not, fingers crossed as some of you said roof down may help and contrast from i3 to Z4 is right,

Got to be about the only Z4 to make a loss this summer, and £1000 a week is some going!

A 3k loss in 3 weeks suggests a seriously overpriced original purchase.
