Greetings all and thank you for letting me join your community.

I just recently purchased a lovely condition 2003 Z4 2.5.

I look forward to hopefully becoming a contributing member in the future.

Here’s a pic of my son with the car straight after we took it for a test drive. Bought it after the pic and headed to the beachfront for a milkshake!

Cheers,
Donovan. Image

Welcome to the Forum, your lad will now develop a passion for Zeds that won’t go away, I did it to my son when he was 12, he now has his own Zed a G29 and I’ve committed him to a lifetime of expense and car obsession

That's terrible!
For a lot less money he could have got a decent sized one. :poke: :D :D

☝️ I agree ! It’s the 30i and a terrific car, but when I start mine up on the drive next to him he still feels inadequate

Thank you all for the kind comments!

My son and I first test drove a 135i and really enjoyed it but it still wasn’t what I was looking for. The Z4 spoke to my soul, and apparently his. He loved the attention he recognised in other kids his age looking when we stopped to get a milkshake.

He certainly wants to inherit this beauty.

I kinda want to do a manual conversion as it’s the only thing missing and manuals are way overpriced here in New Zealand. I’m not too concerned that it’s not a 3.0 but I do feel it needs that complete driver input.

Have a great day/evening everyone 😊

My wife's is the same as yours, 2.5i auto. Takes a little getting used to I admit, but you soon learn the technique of losing a bit of speed before a corner so when you drive through it changes down and you don't just drift around. Plus the Sport setting does hold the gears for longer. Or of course you can push the stick over and use it to pick your own gears, but if you're anything like me, when you do that you keep trying to jump on an imaginary clutch!
