New Car, old speakers!

Post by Superreed » Thu Jul 15, 2021 11:10 pm

Evening guys and gals,
I’ve just picked up my new motor, a nice red z4m. Absolutely love it, what an animal lol. Now I know I should be listening to the engine note etc but I’ve got an issue as the cars speakers sound like they’ve blown!
I’ve moved the fader and balance around but can’t pin down which speakers are shot. Does anyone know where and what size speakers I would need please and if any are plug and play?
Much appreciated, oh and what’s the best car mats to fit and where’s best to get original pedal covers. The previous owner has fitted spark style pedals, not for me lol!
Thanks everyone. Love the forum!

New Car, old speakers!

Well welcome to the forum and M ownership.

I've hardly used the stereo in mine so don't know too much about it! But I think the standard system had 6 speakers, then there was the option of the Hi-Fi speaker system with 10 speakers and the Logic 7 Professional system, also with 10 speakersbut higher output. And with the Professional Nav there is a graphic equaliser that I have only visited once. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be able to help! But I think the 6 speaker set-up has 2 in the footwells, 2 in the doors and 2 in the rear bulkhead.

For mats I'd stick with OE BMW ones - there are only 2 after all.

I'd try BMW for pedal covers - Cotswold BMW and Sopers of Lincoln offer a forum discount.

Now we just need some photos of your car!
Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily
Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

Morning.
Thanks for the reply, sounds like it’s got a sub of some sort so i think I’ll have to removed some parts from the boot.

Yes definitely want to get the mats and pedals back to oem.

Here’s a couple of pics for attention lol.

Cheers
