Hi,

Picked up a Z4 recently so thought I would join the forum. This is actually my 2nd as I had a 2003 Z4 3.0 about 18 months ago.

The car itself is a 2006 Z4 2.5 SI Sport and given the price I paid (£3.1k) is a bit of a project. The car itself has 120k miles and generally drives great for the age however its a bit flat below 4k so I have ordered some vanos solenoids for £70 which will hopefully resolve the issue.

I hope to pick up some 19" CSL reps on Saturday which I will get refurbed and then look to sell on the current wheels on the car. Apart from this I will get the front bumper repainted, replace the suspension bushes/front arms and generally do a few other bits to tidy the car up such as clean the leather and then enjoy it.

Hopefully after the wheels are sold I should end up about about £3.7/3.8k all in which still seems reasonable to me.

Handful of pictures below... so far I have polished the exhaust up and washed it 😅

Welcome to the forum, 2.5 engine is a sweet engine and not much less power than the 3.0. Nice colour as well and I am sure you will have it looking even better very soon.

Welcome to the forum. Are you noticing much of a difference in power/torque between the 3.0i and 2.5si?

No, but it has been 18 months since I had the 3.0i.

They is only 15bhp in it and to be honest at the age they are now you could lose more that due to knackered vanos or a tired engine etc.

It doesn't sound quite as good in the cabin however...

My daily driver is significantly faster than this anyway I just wanted something cheap and fun rather than straight line performance.

If anyone has any tips on DIY leather refurbs (seat and steering wheel) it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum with your good looking Z4 in a great colour combination.

I've read positive reviews of Scuffmaster / Liquid Leather dyes for seats, but haven't needed to use one so far!

Welcome to the forum. Lovely car, quite rare colour on a roadster. It will look a lot better with CSLs on it. If it doesn’t sound right, have a close look at the exhaust, it appears to be OEM but seems to be sticking out too far.

Shame that bicycle is taking up all your garage space.

It sounds right, it just isnt as loud in the cabin as my 03 3.0 was as that had the sound generator with all the foam removed...
Regardless it sounds a lot nicer than my Polestart 2 does

My garage is converted to a gym but being a new build it would only just fit a car in anyway...
