Hi all. Just bought a manual 2.0 2007 Z4 and looking to carry out some improvements such as retrofit cruise, CDV removal, retrofit Bluetooth plus some small cosmetic changes.
The car seems ok mechanically but not done many miles yet. Only got evidence of service history up until 2015 so any advice on what I should look at first would be appreciated
In terms of the retrofit cc I believe Srhutch is the go to guy for the best loom? Looking forward to exchanging experiences with everyone on here.

Hi and welcome, a photo would be nice
If you are unsure of the last 5 years serving then I would start with oil and filters, spark plugs, coolant change and brake fluid change, you don’t say what the mileage is so there may be other services items, I’m sure others will be along to also advise.

Thanks. I’ll try and upload some pics later today. Going to start with a full service and address a couple of advisories on the mot to do with front brake discs needing replacement. Car has only done 76k. Don’t know if there is preferred brand of oil that works well in these engines?

Hi and welcome aboard.
As others have said we like to see photos on here!
Sorry I can't help with your oil question as I've only had 6 cylinder Z4s, but hopefully someone will know.

Thanks Mr Tidy. Did a bit of research through the forum last night on oils and as expected there’s lots of debate about OEM recommended (Castro’s/shell) versus more modern equivalents such as Millers/Fuch etc. I’ve opted for a Millers as we use that in our GT4 race car and not had any issues so far. Don’t believe in long life stuff but prefer to do more frequent changes so I’m sure will be absolutely fine.
