Introducing me and my Z4 M40i

Post by Joop! » Sat Dec 26, 2020 9:55 am

Good day to you all on Christmas day (or Boxing Day)...

...I’m Joop and from the Netherlands. In daily life I’m a project manager at an architectural firm and in my spare time among other things a moderator at one of the bigger BMW forums in The Netherlands.

I’ve been driving BMW all my driving career. I recently bought a Z4 M40i, my tenth BMW so far, and traded in my F32 440i for it. It was a great car as a daily drive but for a long time I didn’t enjoyed it so much as a drivers car, like so many modern cars. After test driving the G22 M440iX recently I got handed over the keys of my current Z4 for a drive. The message was clear from the salesman at the dealership: “I don’t want to see back in a hour time, I see you back in the afternoon”. No bad words to hear I think... I spent a few hours with the car on some lovely driving roads around here. It really is fun to drive, although I basicaly am a coupe driver (I’ve had 8 coupes in the past). Driving with the top down enhances the driving experience so much that you don’t have to drive very fast the whole time. :driving:

Time for some pictures I think...

Thanx guys... Actually the car has everything I normally dislike on a car: matte paint, black wheels and a drop top. But combined it actually works for me. The combination of the ‘frozen’ paint, the black accents and the silver lined hood pushed my across the line to buy one, and it’s still turning heads. :)

:D Not mine... Just a country estate I drove by and one of many around here in the neighbourhood.

Hello fella & welcome ... nice ride... if you get flashed by a grey U.K. plated XC60 with similarly black wheels early Jan in Holland, you’ll know who it is

I’ll keep that in mind... :)

Scotland, the South West of the UK and Wales are still one the list for driving around... Hopefully next year it’ll be possible. :driving:
