Hi all,
After many many months of searching I finally picked up a Montego Blue coupe a few weeks ago, and today managed to get round to giving it a proper clean and shine up for some introductory photos! I waited a long time to find exactly the specification I wanted, and eventually found this car a couple of hours drive away within my budget.
Spec:
2006 3.0 Si Sport Coupe on 90k miles, Montego Blue, Pearl Grey Leather, Piano Black Dash.
Rear parking sensors, auto wipers, auto lights, Xenons.
Hill start assist, heated seats, cup holders, sport button!
Storage compartment pack, multi function steering wheel, probably some other stuff I've forgotten.
Recently replaced water pump, battery and inspection II.
I've loved the look of these for a long time and I bought this based on heart over head really, which is unusual for me. I wasn't actually too impressed with the handling when I bought it, but I've swapped out the hated runflats on the front for a set of Michelen PS4's and the difference is incredible (also had the alloys refurbed as they were quite corroded).
Got a few other jobs that need doing to bring it up to a high standard, but I'm not shy of a bit of work. Hoping to do the following in the next few months:
Front lollipop bushes, anti roll bar bushes and drop links (front is still a little wandery).
Full machine polish and wax
Good clean of the leather, it's not in bad condition for the age but could use a good scrub.
Replace a couple of bits of marked trim on the steering wheel.
Possibly rear discs and pads, and need to check out the handbrake as I think it's only working well on 1 side.
Other than that, get it ready for summer and enjoy!
Hope to get involved with the forum as I trawled no end of posts here to help me through the buying process, seems like a great wealth of information. Oh, and I'm based in East Yorkshire if there's any other owners around here!
Cheers!
