Greetings from West Oxfordshire
Afternoon all, new owner here from West Oxfordshire.
Newly (well a couple of months ago) acquired Z4 2.0 on a 56 plate in metallic black with a nice fruity exhaust.
Before anyone says anything, I KNOW it's not especially quick, but with the roof off, on British roads, does it really matter?
So far, all I've done to it is got a Bluetooth dongle that plugs into the cd changer in the boot.
What needs doing to it:
Small patch of rust bubbling on one wheel arch, and there is a fair bit of laquer peel on the bumper and a few scratches.
The hinge on the glove box is knackered (not that it seems big enough to put much in)
Gear knob is worn and looks shabby - fancy something a bit shorter - any suggestions?
The only other thing that's weird if from the fuel gauge saying it is just about running on fumes, with 15 miles showing on the range, I can only get 45 litres to fill it up. Is the fuel gauge known to be a bit ropey?

All that really matters is that the roof can be lowered?

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I thought they had 55 litre tanks, but even going by the "miles left" on the OBC I hardly ever get much more than 40 litres in when I fill up.
A ZHP gear-knob is a popular modification - it's shorter and heavier.
Hope this link works:- https://www.amazon.co.uk/BMW-25-11-896- ... =8-2-fkmr2
But I think you can get them cheaper than that from Soper of Lincoln (they do a forum discount) or Cotswold BMW - but I'm pretty sure that is the right Part Number.
And don't forget we like to see photos of new members' cars!

I will sort a pic or 2 when I get the chance.
That knob looks sweet (as it were!), I'll have to sort one of those, I have already managed to get the old one off.
I have noticed that on a long drive, my head gets burnt!
I thought they were 55l tanks, but I only tend to brim cars if I am going on a decent journey, so its no big deal really.
