Back in a Z4

Post by rob71 » Thu Jun 27, 2019 6:03 pm

Just collected my new to me Z4 today.
2006 Z4MR in Sapphire Black with Red leather interior. 46.5k miles and is in excellent condition. Previously owned by someone on the forum.
Absolute credit to it's previous owners as it drives really well and is in near mint condition.

Traded in my E46 M3 coupe towards it as I couldn't fit it in my garage and as it was in mint condition so I spent more time washing it than driving it!

Previously owned a 2006 3.0si roadster which I sold to get the M3.

Only a few small jobs to do that I have noticed so far. Gaptech rch roof module ordered, stubby aerial is next on the list and then a bit of detailing and possibly changing the discs and pads. And the air con needs to be checked too.

2002. Vauxhall Corsa 1.2. Budget Daily.

Loved the E46 M3 but as I had got it back to practically mint condition I found I was always worried about it getting damaged etc while it was parked on the driveway outside my house all week and then come the weekend I wanted it to be clean before I went out in it which ended up taking 2-3 hours by which time half the day was gone.
I had no chance of getting the M3 in my tiny garage so I set about looking for cars that would fit. I previously had a Z4 3.0si which I really enjoyed using as a daily and narrower the car hunt done to a Z4MR or a Tvr chimaera 5.0.
Concerns about tvr chassis rot won and I found the car I collected today which was too good to pass up. Also they were eager to take the M3 as part exchange for a reasonable price.
Loving being back in a Z4 so far. 120 mile drive back home this afternoon.

Changed the stereo, installed a Gaptech RCH+ and now have a BMW stubby aerial fitted.
