Too good to be true?

Post by samwhunt » Thu Jun 20, 2019 1:22 pm

Hi all

I'm looking for the following:
- 2013-15 plate
- Either 18i or 20i (it would be remapped anyway)
- Blue or Orange
- M-Sport
- Heated Seats
- Budget: £10-14k

I've found a few over the last month or so but they've quickly been snapped up. Finding this one, it ticks most of the boxes however it's been up for a while and reduced by £100 a few times - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... 6068716170

Unfortunately it's based in Glasgow and I live in Kent. I don't mind flying up there but before any commitments are made, I was wondering for the price is it too good to be true? Am I missing something? Reviews of the dealer vary (I believe it's a car supermarket).

Would anyone recommend hiring a pre-purchase inspection mechanic to take a look first?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

(Admins - please move this if necessary)

Hi, the only item this misses out on compared to the 20i is the dual zone climate controls-apart from that it’s the same car

No cruise control, no iDrive, manual all knocks the price down...if you are not bothered about those bits, re-chip and it will be a stonker..

I might be in Glasgow over the weekend (I live just outside) if I get time I'll pop in and have a look?

Doing only 4000 miles a year and I'm not bothered by the iDrive to be honest. I'm coming from a DSG auto Audi TT so looking to go back to a manual.

Thanks for the advice and the warm welcome to the forum!

Wouldn't use anything other than Google Maps to be honest!

Do they not all have the folding roof from the key?
