Muppet here, used to have a 2.8 Z3. Had an E89 for the last couple of years. Forgot my pass word and felt like a change of name.

Hi , Craig,
all well here. I will look out for your Scottish meets, though I think they sometimes clash with the car club.
How does the M compare with the Alpina?

Yeah, would he great to see you along on some meets if you can make it. Don't lok at club stuff theses days, but will have to check and see if I can avoid same dates.
Was a Black 3.0 I had mate, which was great, had it for nigh on 7 years, selling it in 2012 to get my current M Roadster.
The 3.0 was great, and very good all round ,but the extra performance and grip/ability of the M is just worth the extra service costs and roadtax ,imo.
It's just so good.
Not as suited to short journeys, given it takes a wee while to warm up properly, compared to the 3.0.

Almost bought an M Coupe at the time, but would have missed the roof down fun.
Would have been the better bet financially, but I knew that, and what's more, mine is worth pretty much what I paid for it in 2012 😁

Hopefully see you and your z around somewhere soon.
