2.5i 2003 E85 RHD Alarm Fault

Post by Fraser » Sun Apr 28, 2019 1:16 pm

Good afternoon,

I recently got a 2003 2.5i, it's in pretty good condition, however there are a few little niggles that I have, the main one being the alarm going off intermittently even when it's the garage.

I replaced the siren which has a built in inclination sensor, I tested by locking car then turned siren upside down and the alarm sounded.

But I cannot seem to locate the independent tilt sensor (part no. Helbako 65.75 6 923 208.9).

I stripped out the rear console and it isn't there and there isnt a 6 pin connector there either as stated in the Alarm Kit Installation instructions for this year. There are two pegs opposite the cd changer for mounting the sensor, however these haven't been used as the threads are still fresh.

So, does it have an independent sensor or is it located elsewhere, I cannot see it in the trunk area either.

Thanks in anticipation not your help.

I can’t help you with your search for the tilt sensor, but you could eliminate the motion sensors by pressing the lock button twice on the fob when locking - the clown nose will be red for about five seconds to confirm they’re off. That’s if you haven’t done that already.

Thanks for your reply.

Does this affect the tilt sensor or is this to rule out a problem with the motion sensor?

As far as I’m aware it’s just the motion sensors so you can lock the car with windows / roof down.
