Hi All!
I've been looking into getting one of the older shape Z4s recently, E85 i think it is? . I'm just not sure whether to grab the 2.2, 2.5 or 3.0! Is the 3.0 a much better drive than the smaller sized engines?
Cheers Guys!

Go for the 3.0, no more expensive to run in comparison to others....

Hi AaronM - welcome to the forum
E85 is the roadster introduced on 2003 (think I'm correct) and subject to a subtle face lift around 2006 to be replaced by the folding tintop E89. I would go 3.0 about the same mpg as the 2.5 but if it is the roadster you want then get one with the heated; electric Msport seats which make it an all year top down car. Happy hunting and keep coming back to ask questions

Welcome to the playground. For sure go for roof down, heated sports seats and the biggest engine you can lay your mits on

Hi and welcome to the madhouse.
Definitely go for the 3 litre. The 2.2i, 2.5i and 3.0i in the pre-facelifts are all the same engine, just in different sizes, so the running costs are pretty much the same!
I bought a 325i as a daily last year, but am in the throes of swapping to a 330i - should have just bought a 330i in the first place!

Me again! This may be a little bit of a odd question. I'm like 6"1 and im a bigger guy anyway, i'm a little worried about if i will comfortably fit inside one of them! I've had a look online and cant find a dealer local with an E85. Anyone on here in or around Medway, Kent willing to let me try and squeeze into one?

You definitely need to try before buying. I bought the heated sports seats for my E85 from another Forum member, Chris. He had an E85 and even buying some bespoke seats from a place in Nottinghamhe still couldn’t get comfortable. In the end he sold the car and bought an E89 which has more room for bigger guys. Mind you I think he was a bit taller than you. But have a drive or it could lead to an expensive mistake.

Welcome! Got confused seeing this post with the near identical username If it helps I'm 6ft 4 (and a bit) and fit okay - as the guys say, definitely worth sitting in one yourself though. Good luck with the search! Go for the 3.0
