Ruby Black Z4 2.5si

Post by RAR » Mon Mar 25, 2019 11:55 am

Hi All,

been looking around the forum for a while and finally found the time to sign up and introduce myself!

I encouraged my good lady to purchase a Z4 a while back. She previously had an old Astra and having come into some money she was keen to upgrade. Initially she was looking at Audi TT's but with my background in BMW's (currently driving an E46 M3 - member on Cutters) I was keen to direct her towards the Z4. A deal was done and since then we've been the proud new owners of a lovely 57 plate facelift Z4 2.5si. From what I can tell it has the following spec;

Individual Ruby Metallic Black Paint
Extended Cream leather interior
Piano Black inserts
Sat Nav
6 Disk Boot loader
Heated seats

What a car! It's such a lovely place to be and I have to say, I've been impressed with the Z4, it's handling, road presence and above all, its weight. It's really noticeable when accelerating and braking. I love it. The engine is silky smooth, you just can't beat a BMW straight 6.

I've got a few photo's somewhere that I'll try to dig out and post up. I'm assuming it's the same as other forums - use a hosting site for the photos etc.

I'll be hanging around a bit more - looking for a good deal on some fresh 108's and, typically, the roof motor has stopped working so I think I need to get hold of Bowser - thankfully I'm right on his doorstep so hope to get the roof working again before this good weather passes.

Looking forward to getting involved in the forum and tapping into the knowledge and experience you guys have with these cars.

Cheers

Thanks for the welcome and kind comments. Ruby black really is a stunning colour. Just need to get the roof fixed now so we can make the most of this weather!

Does anyone have total numbers of cars produced in each colour? Be interested to know just how many of them are out there in Ruby black.

I don't think there were large numbers of Ruby Black, as being an Individual Colour you had to pay extra for it!

Someone on here did put together a database, but unfortunately it only covers 3.0Sis and Ms.

But of the 3,152 3.0Sis he's identified as being registered in the UK, only 207 were Ruby Black.

My E86 is Ruby Black with Champagne Leather Auto.According to the perso.numericable.fr database,my car was the last UK RHD to be built with that specification.
I love the colour, but I must get rid of the swirl marks. Only those in know can see them!
