New Member - Milton Keynes - Advice on upgrades please
I’m soon to be a member of the club and have a deposit on a black e89 23i with 54k on the clock (in lovely cosmetic condition)!
I have read a lot on this forum and plan to change out the run flats but am hoping somebody might be able to advise on the following. Important to state that I have NO mechanical or technological ability over or above changing a radio setting!
I’m looking to do (over time)
Install parking sensors +/- camera
Upgrade audio unit so I use my iPhone
Mount my phone to use say nav and be able to charge it (ideally without wires dribbling all over the console)
Can anybody recommend anyone around the centre of England who might be able to do these things for me?
As soon as I have the car with me again I’ll put some pictures up (spoiler alert it looks like a black m sport with 18’s)

Welcome on board. Looking forward to some pictures.
I would get the Zed. Then sort the run flats. Then post up a few separate threads for your mods. You will get more targeted advise that way

Hi and welcome.
You probably want to add getting your roof motor relocated into the boot if it hasn't been done already.

Thao’s everyone. Great forum too! Collecting tomorrow morning, all going well.
As it’s an E89, does that mean I don’t have to worry or bother about relocating the roof motor?
The smarttop thing looks sooo sensible!

It is mine!
What a lovely, lovely drive. That noise.....
Turns out has just had a new set of 4 run flats so seems a waste to change them right away.
The smart roof thing seems a must as this one doesn’t have the convenience pack. Any advice much appreciated!
Does anyone know what the heck I can do with that stupid phone holder that’s inside the arm rest!!

Very nice
The roof motor issue was on the E85 so your zed is fine. Se how you get on with the tyres, but pretty sure you will want to change them if the car feels twitchy/unstable.
Get out and enjoy it and look out for some local meets

Welcome and lovely looking car.
Regarding using your phone, if you have the USB and AUX in connection in the centre arm rest you could just get a Bluetooth hands free adapter that plugs in there. Something like this (this is the one I have and it works well)
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B075SWJMJ7/ ... CbEHQK05G
In terms of mounting your phone, I have the following magnetic mount that fits in the air vent:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07CGD54BD? ... b_ap_share
Obviously it depends on what phone you have, but having one with wireless charging works pretty well if you want less wires!
