Just dropped the gearbox - thought it would be quicker than refilling the coolant (not sure at the moment!). I say 'just the gearbox' that's after taking most of the back end out. Did all the suspension/shocks & polybushes last year; everything sand blasted and repainted while it was off. Shreded the fan belt on the way to the MOT - it must have done all the 100K+ since 1995 so changed it and the cam belt.firebobby wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 9:22 pmGood man Harry, did you drop the engine and box, what year is his. What a beauty! I felt that the MR2 handling was sharper, felt more connected with the car. Is it the same for you?

It's all good guys. The MR2 was the first car I fiddled with, nothing major and I really enjoyed it until rust got hold of it and wasn't feasible to invest in it anymore.Crazy Harry wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 10:06 pmYep it's tight - but doable I'll try and get you a photo - might go to PM and let the OP have his thread back!firebobby wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 10:03 pmDid you do the cam belt in situ? supposed to be a very tight job to do. Yes absolutely, you are part of the car. I do like driving it and you don't see many around now.
The photo was taken at Gaydon when we met the Practical classics guys and drove down to Bicester heritage with them, great day out
