Newbie please be gentle with me

Post by lemans1994 » Sun Jan 06, 2019 6:43 pm

Hi, i decided to replace my own brake pipe on a E85 z4, i took some photos before as referance but realised now my errors can you help ?
Bit of background , last MOT advisory rusted brake pipe on rear N/s.
As its sorn for winter i thought I can do this !
So i took photos cut my rear pipes at bulkhead, removed them from the car and kept them as a template. Then i got carried away, i thought i may aswell do tho hoses while i was at it, then i took off my callipers ans got them powder coated locally, rebuilt them with new pistons, left the pads and rotars as they are fairly new. So now when ive started putting bits back on ive realised i didnt mark the brake pipes i cut so firstly does anyone know the fitting position onto the ABS ??????
secondly has anyone replaced theirs b4 ? As im stuck to how to run the pipe through the clips under the boot from the N/S to the O/S without major removal tank etc.
Any guidance would be gratefully received
Michael

Hi and welcome - lovely looking Z4.

My car has had new rear brake pipes, but I didn't do it so can't help much.

But Ducklakeview did them using copper so he could feed the O/S one through the clips, and then he shaped it afterwards.

Hopefully someone with some technical knowledge will be along soon so you can finish the job.
Coupes because stunning!
