I'm ready for a roadster

Post by jeffreyt » Sun Jan 06, 2019 1:04 am

well, after quite a few weeks of advertising have today finally sold the Lotus Elan (M100) for a decent price.
Surprisingly enough have sold it to another OAP! Thank God for old farts.
Now begins the search for 2.5 or 3.0 Z4 circa 05 /06.
There is certainly a lot out there but most of them look distinctly average , the wrong colour or the other end of the country.
I am not in any hurry,I know the right car is out there somewhere or will be in the future.
Will keep you all posted on progress.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with the search

What’s your ideal colour spec etc? The amount of listings should go up soon as springs only around the corner - thank god! :D

Hi and welcome - keep a look out for forum cars. At least you can ask loads of questions; request more 'odd' photos and take quite a lot of the pain out of traveling to the other end of the UK to buy something - and what a first trip back

If you give a vague location members might be able to suggest cars nearer to you.

Good luck in your search for the right roadster - don't hold your breath for a white and red leather one! However there are plenty of space grey and sterling greys around

You have to travel to get the best - just ask all the detailed questions before u leave so the trip’s worthwhile

Looks like I was jumping the gun.
Saturday I took a large deposit from a charming gentleman who was going to pick up the car later this week.
This morning I got a phone call to say he had passed away last night!
If that is not a show stopper I don't know what is.
He was same age as me ,73.
Things on hold for the moment.

So nothing to do with his misses finding out he’d blown their life savings on a car then... mine went up the wall after she found out

well, that was Mrs T's first thought but that seems a far fetched story to come up with to get out of buying a car.
Anyway I am accepting it as Kosher and will return the deposit. What else could I do ?
