Glad to be here!
Hey everyone just thought I'd stop in here to say hello! Your forum is excellent and I've learned a ton already. Can't wait to get to know everyone a little better. My love for the Z series came about a year ago when my beloved 86 crown vic went down for a few weeks (I'm a big fan of ancient full size American cars, and tiny European roadsters oddly enoigh) and I got the pleasure of driving my dad's z3 for a a while. At the time I'd never driven a car that was more fun (my 97 formula firebird was faster, but t tops just don't compare to a proper roadster), and I couldn't believe the amount of female attention that little z3 got. So at 18 I was properly hooked for life. Fast forward about three years and I'm finally making enough money to start realistically shopping for a z3. After a few weeks of hitting ebay, craigslist, marketplace, and autotrader I finally stumbled upon a diamond in the rough. A 2003 2.5 Z4 auto with the sport package (which I found to be an even more attractive car than the z3 I was searching for) with only 109k on the clock for half the price of any z3 locally, including ones over 200k. Not to mention she was Maldives Blue, the greatest color to ever grace the hood of an automobile. I couldn't pass it up, despite the fact that the paint had more blemishes than a stripper on a two dollar tuesday, and that she had a couple of warning lights (yellow flags are better than red flags I suppose). She's not the prettiest, nor the fastest, and she's an auto but she's mine and I couldn't love her more. Without further ado, everyone meet the newest addition to my small family.

Hi, lovely colour z4 you’ve bagged
Have you got a code reader to diagnose those warning lights?

The AutoZone special revealed P.o. 171 and 174, duct tape on the lower air intake boot seems to indicate that's my first problem. $40 on eBay seems easy enough . I've got another warning light trifecta though, and an interesting thread on the topic if you're interested. If you've got any recommendations on a scanner that can clear codes (under $200 or so preferably) I'd love to hear it!
Chattanooga area! If anyone knows of any meet ups near by I'd love to see you guys.
