Post by Zedtastic » Tue Nov 20, 2018 7:06 pm

Hello all,

I don't own a Z4 yet, but hopefully soon I will :D . I thought I'd join here first for some buying tips. I'd like to be fully clued up before buying.

So far I know that I want a Z4 Coupe, in Sport trim. Thanks in advance, for all the silly questions I'm bound to be asking.

Welcome. :)

Two models available. 3.0si and the ///M. While both being Z4 coupes, they are quite different cars. Which are you looking for?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

As I'm on my 2nd Coupe I'd definitely recommend a Coupe! :) Don't take any notice of all the pram-top owners.

You might find this helpful:- viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21281

Assuming you are looking for a 3.0Si Coupe bear in mind the standard spec was a bit mean - cruise, Xenons, heated seats, parking sensors, multi-function steering wheel and even cup-holers were all options - if any of those are a "must-have" for you bear that in mind when searching. Cruise control and cup-holders are probably the only ones that can be retro-fitted fairly easily, although cup-holders are hard to find IIRC.

Anyway good luck with your search, and when you've found one don't forget we like photos! :)
Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily
Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

Oh the M would be nice to put away in the garage, but I want one for day-to-day use during the summer months, and I don't think my budget will stretch to the M. It'll have to be a 3.0Si for me.

Hi and welcome along, good luck with your search and remember it’s always worth travelling for the right car so don’t limit your search to something local.

I’m Southend by the way

Hi and welcome to the forum! Take your time finding the right one for you, although there are not so many options, like Mr Tidy said, be sure to double check you have what you need. Sport M seats (now I'm not sure this is the correct name?) are nice to have compared to the "standards" . But bear in mind also that all options (except sport suspension) were available on SE models. So you may not limit your research on Sport model exclusively, as standard suspension will (slightly) increase comfort which could make you happier if you intend to daily drive your car. Good luck with the research!

Thanks everyone for your good advice.

So, after loads of searching, I finally found one :D . It's exactly what I was looking for - a coupe 3.0Si with PDC, Xenons, FBMWSH, grey with black leather, piano black dash and no sat nav. Its completely standard.... for now! I got it from another user on here, and I would never have figured out the exact spec I needed without this forum. Thanks again to all.

I'll try and post some pics here. Where does everyone get their pictures hosted?

Hi, M-sport suspension was available on the SE models, I know this as my SE had it as an option from new
