I’ve been on here a while but never posted in this page.
Purchased my 03 3.0i SE last summer and have been saving to start the process of returning it to its former glory.
Unfortunately it all went wrong in June when I had to have the steering column replaced . £3k gone very quickly.
So back to saving!
Hoping this is the last big expense as the car has only covered 45k miles!

Hi and welcome.
Sorry that you had such a large lay out so early but hopefully that's all in the past now.
Enjoy

The power steering motor failed and after sending it away for testing it became clear it could not be reconditioned. Only thing left to do was replace it and BMW only sell the replacement as part of a complete steering column.

Tasty looking "classic" Z4 you have there, I had my steering fail and sent the motor to ECU testing. They were able to revive it and It's working fine now. Who did you send your motor to?
