HI and welcome to the forum from another classic metal fan.
If you have heated seats than combined with the fantastic cabin heater the Zed is an easy (just a jumper) all year round drop top. I don't have a wind deflector and don't run with the windows up unless I'm on the motor way or its below zero when the tops down.

Partial success !!!!
I got 2 genuine keys with the car, one 6 months old and one original. Charged them last night as Jabber said and the resync'd both. The new one works !!! Can I assume its a duff battery in the old key and how do I replace it ?
The passenger door seems to struggle to unlock so I assume I need to have a look at the door mechanism and clean/oil - is the door card easy to get off.
Also, the petrol flap does not lock, is that normal ?
Thanks for the welcomes and help, great bunch on the forum.

The cables for the door handles do stretch, and made worse when hot, so probably best to change them.
Petrol flap should lock with car being locked also.

hi scotty57 and welcome to the forum. I love your MG and Stag. 2 beautiful classics
BTW - If you remove the door card to look at the locking mechanism, just remember to disconnect the battery before removing the side airbag.

One step forward and one back. The newer key of the 2 will still lock the car but not unlock it. The older key still is not working, can I assume :
1. There is locking relay that is faulty
2. The older key battery is duff and needs replacing
Help...........

Hi everyone, can anyone recommend a GM5 repair service ?
Fixed the n/s rattling disc dust cover today, used 4 penny washers with a portion cut out to slide over the bolt to pinch the cover in place - no need to dismantle hub I see no reason why these could not be disregarded altogether.

If you class yourself as an old fart, Scotty I don know what that makes me as i was 72 last Sunday. I am wondering if there is anyone older than me with a zed. Had my 2005 3.0i just over a year now. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine

Yes, I am! 74 on August 25th. I'm on my 3rd Z now after a 2 year break with an M6. I hope to be driving a Z for many years to come. Have just fitted Ohlins Road & Race suspension on my 35i to go with the Eibach roll bars and M3 lower arms. I had to fit the M3 arms as the car wandered under really heavy braking after I fitted 6 pot calipers. The Ohlins suspension is not the cheapest but great value. The car rides beautifully, unaffected by bumps but has amazing support in the bends. There won't be many people argue against Ohlins
