Hi and welcome OP.

There is loads of helpful information on here, including this buying guide:- viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21281.

If you are going for a 6 cylinder one you might as well stick to the 3.0 litre as the running costs are the same!

Good luck finding the right one, and once you do, don.t forget the photos! :)
Coupes because stunning!

Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

Thanks for this, some great tips in there

Currently I’m thinking the 3.0is
As many options as possible. Need to do more research on this yet though.
Manual I think is preferable but I should try both to know for sure.
Mileage below 80k would be nice, though as long as it’s all in good order with appropriate paperwork I’d go higher if the car was right on the rest of the wish list.
Colours I’m not overly worried about as long as the in/out compliment each other.

Budget is not the primary concern. For the right car I’d pay the right money.

Back in the UK in a few weeks then I’ll start to look at what’s available. There are some on autotrader that caught my eye earlier

Thanks again

Well options are a bit of a minefield, as basic spec was pretty miserable!

M-Sport seats are well worth looking for (used ones go for up to £1,000 a pair)!
Heated seats are very popular on a Roadster.
Bi-Xenon headlights are MUCH better than the standard halogens.
Upgraded stereo is much better than the standard BMW Business one.
Cup-holders are very useful, and can be hard to get.
Cruise control was an option, but isn't too hard to fit to a pre-facelift as they are pre-wired.
Rear parking sensors were an option.

You just need to decide which ones are essential, and which would be "nice to have"!

I'd start my search on here - most forum members' cars tend to be spoilt! :)

Anyway, good luck.

I wouldn't worry too much about mileage - condition and how the car has been looked after is more important.
