Thanks for the photos OP - your car looks great.

I think bowser134 will be the nearest roof motor guru to you - he's based in Hants IIRC.

Ugh. Discovered a small leak at the bottom of the drivers door when it rains. At least it's obvious where is coming from but not had time to fix it.

Car didn't start the other day too. Click click. Tried the spare key and it fired instantly. Not ruling out the starter motor yet though.

I hope you get the starter issue sorted OK.

Just noticed in your sig. that you have an 07 silver 123d - I had one of those for over 6 years.

I liked it, but then I got a Z4! :)

Mr Tidy, 123d is simply amazing value for money second hand. Where else can you get so much performance, so little fuel consumption, with so much comfort and style? Agree though that the Z4 is sportier. Best to have both :driving:

Fitted a 'Joying' Android based head unit the other day, with DAB windscreen aerial, GPS antenna, separate mic for Bluetooth phone stuff. DAB channels added but not all in my home location though. The analogue aerial is connected via a FAKRA connector adapter and works well with that side of things.

So, we now have built in Satnav, DAB radio, internets (when tethered to mobile phone) but I can stick a dongle on it with SIM to have it independently interneted up. Also I can add a reversing camera (if I can find a OE looking version/or discrete one) and finally a dash cam all integrated.

Update:
Car passed it's MOT with a couple of minor advisories. :D

I've checked the aerial amplifier and it seems to be dead. There seems to be several different units in the rear near the aerial. I've decided to get a new aerial with built in amplifier and a reversing camera at the same time. If I have to run a cable to the front of the car I may as well do two!

My wife drives this car mainly but she is getting fed up with the roads around here that are quite bumpy and pot holed. The 18's and 35 section tyres can't be helping here. Would there be an advantage in trying 17 inch wheels with fatter more compliant tyres? Or do I have to soften the suspension some how? WE don't track the car so there seems little point in compromising the on road ride quality.

Good news on the MOT.

If your wife is finding the ride too stiff it's possibly a shame you managed to find a car with the M-Sport suspension!

If the car could use a suspension refresh it might be worth going back to non M-Sport springs and dampers, although I've read of people finding non-OEM components being more compliant.

Swapping to 17" wheels should definitely help as I think they use 225/45 tyres so there would be more sidewall, especially with non run-flat tyres - but you might want to keep the convenience of run-flats if the car is mostly driven by Mrs Floydroid.

Thanks for the info

I wouldn't know what suspension is fitted to the car unless you are saying that all 3.0ltr cars have M Sport kit as standard? It handles really well, however it's pretty pointless of I don't take the car on track IMO.

Any recommendations for non OEM kit? Whatever Eurocarparts offer or are we talking Bilstein and Eibach etc?

nice car & welcome - you'll get much more enjoyment out of it knowing it was significantly less than a 10k boxster aswell
